The market rate of discount remains at lj;, and the bank rate at 21 por cent. _ Tho total reserve in notes and bullion _in tho Bank of England has advanced during tho week to £25,800,000. Tho proportion of reserve to liabilities is now 49 per cent. There is a continuous influx of gold in largo quantities now taking place from North America. Now Zealand securities. —Five per cent 10-40 loan, 103J; five por cent 1889 loan, 105; four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, 101-j-; four percent inscribed stock, 10U. Australian brcadstuff.s and tallow arc without quotable change. (Received April 26, 11 a.m.) Adelaide, Friday. Wheat, 3s lOd to 3s lid, with market flat and prices nominal, buyers holding off; town flour £9 10s, and country brands £8 10s, with market dull. Freights to London, sailing 35s to 40s.
