The market rate of discount remains at lj;, and the bank rate at 21 por cent. _ Tho total reserve in notes and bullion _in tho Bank of England has advanced during tho week to £25,800,000. Tho proportion of reserve to liabilities is now 49 per cent. There is a continuous influx of gold in largo quantities now taking place from North America. Now Zealand securities. —Five per cent 10-40 loan, 103J; five por cent 1889 loan, 105; four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, 101-j-; four percent inscribed stock, 10U. Australian brcadstuff.s and tallow arc without quotable change. (Received April 26, 11 a.m.) Adelaide, Friday.
