Encore led from the start till the Avater jump tho second time round, Avhen Tho Agent and Clarence Avent up and fought it out to the finish, Clarence only beating his old opponent by a neck, both horses being under the whip. Time ornins 35sees. T.C.J.C. Handicap, H miles.— Tasman, 9st Gib, 1 ; Sou'wester, fst 131b, 2 ; Lady Emma, Sst 111b, 3. Vanguard (Sst 101b) also ran. Vanguard and Sou'wester made the running till the bend into tho straight, when Tasman went up aud won by a little over a length. Time, 2mins lO^.secs. Selling "Race. G furlongs.—Makarakara 1, Tongariro 2,' Billy 3. Winter Oats' Handicap, 1 mile.—Rubina, lOst, 1; Minerva, 9st slb, 2 ; Princess Royal, Ost, 3. Rubina won by a neck. Time, lmin 40isecs. Selling Handicap Hurdles, l£ miles.— Steel Dust, 1 ; Milo, 2 ; Moody, 3. Five others started. This race Avas run too fast, no fewer than five out of eight starters coming to grief at successive hurdles ; no one hurt. Consolation, 1 milo.—Hippodamia, Sst 121b, 1; Billy, 7st 3lb, 2; Marchioness Noil, 7st 51b, 3.
