COMMITTAL OF WERRIBEE STATION MASTER FOR MANSLAUGHTER.
THE ADELAIDE-WAIRARAPA ENQUIRY.
MELBOURNE,
Tuesday. Bitldlo, the station muster at Werribco, through Whoso negligenco the fatal railway
accident at Little River is alleged to have been caused, has been committed for tual on a charge of manslaughter. Tho Wairarapa-Adelaide enqniry was continued to-day. Witnesses who were on board tho Union steamship confirmed the evidence, taken at Duucdin. Mr Mouatt, the engineer, corroborated th ) statements. The remark made by Mr Mills regarding the race was merely jocular. Other witnesses denied that the Wairarapa waited for tho Adelaide, and blamed the bad steering of the latter vessuL Mr Mills, the Lmon Company's agent, testified that he never arranged a race between his vessel and tiio Adehiide, and that the statement o, Mr Turnbull, tho Adelaide's agent, to the contrary was incorrect. The enquiry stands adjourned until to-morrow, when Messrs Gillies and Kcrferd, who WO among the passengers, will be examined.
