A ten-roomed house occupied as a private school was burned down yesterday afternoon. The origin is believed to be ashes thrown out behind the kitchen. The building was the property of Mr Aspinall, solicitor, Temuka. It is believed to have been insured for £GOO. The furniture, which was mostly saved, was insured in the Norwich Union office for £200._ A house of five rooms adjoining, belonging to the county clerk, caught fire and was burned down. It was insured for £250 in the Norwich Union office, and for £50 in the Colonial office. The furniture and effects were saved. They were insured in various offices for £300.
