The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross, Captain Ross, from Auckland via Gisborne, I'ft the latter port at 12 o'clock last night, and arrived hero at about 11 o'clock to-day. She will be brought inside at 2 p.m. to discharge her cargo, some 60 tons, and at 3 p.m. to-morrow is to steam She will take the outward portion of our 'Frisco mail, as both the Tarawera and Wainirapa are a day late. The p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, returned from Wairon at 9.15 last night, bringing several passengers and some fruit and luggage. She is expected to get away again to-morrow morning. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadley, Capt. Moore, was towed outside at 8 o'clock this morning by the s.s. Sir Donald, and at oncu sailed for Newcastle, N.S.W. Tim Union Company's steamer Tarawera has Ueeirtlelayctt tn Auckland u> receive 2>'i-son,trers, luggage, and cargo out of iho N.Z. Shipping Company's s.s. Ruapehu, and will not be leaving for the South until midday to-morrow, and it will thus make it Sunday morning before she cu-n reach this port. She is advertised tv steam for Wellington and the South at 10 a.m. that clay. The s.s. Kiwi ii not now expected to arrive h-TC from Wellington and the coast until to-moi-ow monthly. She will discharge irihido and leave a gain the same clay. The time of tho Union Company's ;->..s. WuiniiMpa's departure northward has been "extended until h p.m. on Sunday, as that vessel is not expected to arrive here from the South until that day-
