PUBLIC MEETING AT WOODVILLE.

Woodvillk, This day. At a public meeting in the Forty-mile Bush last night a resolution was passed urging the Government to putlines through the Bush three chains wide to open up Crown lands instead of forming a road, the. funds which would have been spent in road formation to be given to the Road Board, so that the settlers should have the advantage of the works to assist in earning a livelihood until such time as the land is sufficiently improved to yield returns. It was also resolved to thank the Government for letting , further contracts on the Master-ton-Wood vi lie line, and it was urged on the Minister of Lands the necessity of opening up other blocks of Crown lands to meet the demand.
