The total reserve in the Bank of England iv notes and bullion is £12,200,000, being a decrease of £400,000 during tho week. Tho proportion of reserve to liabilities has fallen to 4 per cent. Tho bank rate of discount has advanced to per cent; market rate, 3 per cent. Consols have declined to 101. New Zealand securities remains as follows: —Five per cent 10-40 loan, 105; five per cent 1889 loan, 103£ ; four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, 99 \, ex div. ; four per cent inscribed stock, 100. Adelaide wheat, ex-store, remains at 445, and New Zealand ditto at 36s to 425; Adolaido flour, ox-warehouso 31s. Australian tallow, fair average quality, beef 395, and mutton 42s'. Scotch pig iron, No. 1, f.o.b. in Clyde, 46s per ton; galvanised iron, Gospel Oak corrugated, packed iv cases, f.o.b. in London, has advanced to £18 10s. Sydney, Friday. New Zealand wheat, per bushel, 3s 4d ; New Zealand oats, 2s lid; maizo, 4s; sugar, Company's No. 1 pioces, per ton, (Roceivod February 9, 1.10 a.m.) Adelaide, Friday. Wheat, to-day's quotations arc, buyers 3s 9d, and sellers 4s ; flour has slightly recovered the rocenfc fall, and town brands aro now quoted at £9 15s to £10, and country ditto at £8 10s to £8 15s.
