THE SELWYN NOMINATION.

Christchurch, This day. Mr John M'Lachlan and Edward Wakefield were nominated yesterday at Leeston to represent Selwyn. About 150 persons were present, and the proceedings were rather lively. The show of hands was as follows:— Wakefield, 65 ; M'Lachlan, 39. Tho election takes place on the 15 th instant, and it is expected to bo a hard fight.
