FIRES.
Gisborne, This day. A small house and shop at Makaraka, owned and occupied by Mr D. Malone, saddler, were burned down The causo of the fire is unknown. The insurance is £475 in the Imperial oflice. Christchurch, This day. An unoccupied cottage at Sydenham was destroyed by fire yesterday, and two other alarms of fire occurred.
