BOROUGH PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATIONS.

The Public Works Committeo of tho Municipal Council hold their usual meeting last eveniug, and agreed to recommend the Council'as. follows:— -

1, That the recommendation report of the overseer.bo adopted, except clauses 1 and 3 thereof.?

2.. That, tho report of the inspector of nuisances bo adopted. 3. That the inspector of nuisances' report re harbor reserve be adopted, and that a reply bo forwarded to tho Harbor Board embodying the points raised by the inspector, and informing the Board that the Corporation proposed to fill in their portion, and trust that the Board will not compel the Council to take proceedings against them to compel the filling in of tho reserve. 4. That .the' road referred to in the petition from Main-street be surveyed, and that the overseer . proparo specifications for tlie work iv timo for tho next meeting of the Public Works Committeo.

o. That the overseer call for tenders for tenders for reclaiming town section No. 360. 6. That the artesian well in PJdwardstreet be taken possession of by the Corporation, and that Mr Swan be informed that for tho future he will bo required to pay water rates according to meter. 7. That tho Corporation offices be closed to tho public on Saturdays at noon.
