HASTINGS TOWN BOARD.

Tho first meeting of the Town Board Commissioners - took place at the Town Hall yesterday a'ffcernoon. All the Commissioners were present. It was proposed by Cm. Tanner, and seconded by Cm. Foreman, that. Gin. Captain Russell bo elected - chairman of the Board. —Carried. Proposed by Cm. Tanner, seconded by Cm. Foreman, that Mr Collinge be appointed clerk to the. Board, also valuer, dog-tax and rate collector at tho salary of £40 per annum.—Carried. ; Tho Chairman was iustructed to arrange with Mr Kennedy for the completion of the town map. Proposed by Cm. Tanner, and seconded by Cm. Doney, that the clerk by instructed to mako a valuation-roll of the land within the Town Board,, and also of the riding, with a viow of making a settlement with the Road Board.—Carried. Proposed by Cm. Doney, and seconded by Cm. Tanner, that the clerk be instructed to arrange with Mr Bethel for a supply of dog collars, not to exceed Is each, and that the registration fee for dogs bo 5s per dog. — Carriod. Proposed by Ctri..For_man, and seconded by Cm. Tanner, that Cm. Luckie be appointed treasurer to the Board.—Carried. No'xt meeting was left to be called by tho Chairman when valuation rolls, etc., wero ready.—(Own correspondent).
