PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING TRUNK RAILWAY LINE.
New Plymouth, This day,
A meeting, largely attended, was held last night in the Town Hall for the purpose of appointing a committee to cooperate Avith the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and Hawera and Patea Borough and County Councils, for the purpose of watching the interests of .tho Taranaki district in connection with the trunk line of railway. Resolutions were passed, and the committee appointed were requested to urge on the Government the necessity of securing the services, of Mr Donkin, C.E., who knew the district thoroughly, as it would save both time and money in the exploration.
