CONVICTION FOR ASSAULT.

The charge igainst a young man named "Ward for assaulting- the captain of the Salvation Army was heard yesterday at the Resident Magistrate Court. The evidence was confined to the assault, and a good deal of it was of a contradictory nature. The accused was represented by counsel, and the case occupied the Court all clay. The Magistrate inflicted a sentence of three days' imprisonment.
