THE TRIUMPH AFLOAT.
Auckland, This day
Tho steamer Triumph was successfully floated this morning, and is now about a mile from Tiri steaming towards Auckland. 12.30 p.m. The Triumph has passed to leeward of Tiri tiri some two or throe miles. The steamer Waitaki has just started to her assistance, and the Rotomahuna fellows at 2 o'clock. A while ilag is hoisted at the signal station to intimate that the Triumph is now out of sight. It is thought the adverse sea and tide are too strong for her. It is not known whether she is making more water or not.
2 p.m. The Triumph seems to have anchored threo miles from Tiri. Thoro is a strong adverse bree/o and heavy sen. No details of tho floating have yet reached town. All that had been done to her prior to floating was to remove tho heavy cargo and coals that were holding her down, stop all the leaks in the sections aft of tho fore compartment, and pump her out, tho pumps fixed being equal to 500 tons per hour. The forehold being full of water will mako navigation difficult, especially with the sea now running.
