NATIVES PREVENTED FROM VISITING PARIHAKA.
Opunake, This day. One hundred and seventy natives from along the coast came to the Waiaua bridge on Friday, but were stopped by a strong guard placed there by Colonel Roberts. After being told that they would not be allowed to proceed Titokowaru stood up in his buggy and beckoned to tho crowd to double back, which they did. They were well dressed, and very orderly.
