The cricket match, Christchurch Wanderers v. a second eleven of Auckland, was played yesterday, and resulted in a most easy win for the visitors by an innings and IGO runstosparo. The local men wont in first, and were all out for 15 runs. The Wanderers then held the wickets until almost 5 o'clock, their total being 227. Secretan 119, Wilding 31, Buchanan 27, and Longden 20 were tha principal scorers. Auckland put together 52 in their second innings. MacCormick with 21 was the only man that made any stand. Wilding and Chapman bowled well, each taking eight wickets in tho match. [By Cable.] Melbourne," Wednesday. The intercolonial cricket match Victoria versus New South Wales was commenced hero to-day. At the close of the day's play tho visitors had lost four wickets" for 278 runs. The highest scorers wero—Murdoch, caught, 152 ; Jones, 52.
