The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, got aAvay for AVairoa at 10 o'clock last night, taking a full cargo and several passengers. Sho is reported as having arrived thcro at an early hour this morning. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross is telegraphed as having left Auckland at 10 o'clock last night for Southern ports, having somtv 58 tons of cargo and 21 sheep on board for this port. Sho will probably reach here on AVednesday night, and discharge inside on Thursday, beTn" - announced to steam for AA r ellington at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Tho three-masted schooner Mary AVadley was berthed inside at the breastwork yesterday afternoon. The steamer Sir Donald, Capt. Quinlan, returned from Tongoio and Moeangiangi at noon to-day, bringing a full load of wool, part of Avhich she will discharge into the Wave Queen. . The schooner Columbia is to sail to-night in ballast for Mercury Bay to bring a load of sawn timber for Messrs Charles Dolbel and Co. The p.s. Manaia. which was reported as having loft AVairoa at 8 o'clock this morning, was coming up the bay Avhen our report left the Spit. The steamer Kiwi is telegraphed as having left AVcllington for Napier and tho coast at 12.35 a.m. this clay, and Avill probably reach here to-morrow or Thursday morning. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association report the arrival of tho ship Deva from the Bluff (left August 28). Melbourne, Monday. At that date tho weather was favorable, and the returns from tho sugnr districts shoAved that the crop was equal to the estimates. The sailings included the Thoreo Avith 400 tons for Dunedin and 256 for Lyttelton. The Froy Avas loading for Dunedin Avith 300 tons. Freights to Noav Zealand, 40s. [by telegraph.] AVestport, This day. Tho Kawakiri, Avhen proceeding to sea last night, took tho ground on the north spit a considerable distance inside the bar. Her position is not dangerous. Dunedin, This day. The Rotomahana made a successful trial trip to Ocean Beach and back yesterday, steaming at a rate of IG4- knots. In tho courso of the proceedings Mr Ross, the chairman of the Harbor Board, said the barque Matanra Avould be the first Home ship to load cargo at the Dunedin wharves. Lyttelton, This day. The Takapuna arrived at 7.30 a.m. yesterday, and sailed at 0 o'clock last night for Wellington. Her voyage from tho Manukau occupied 36 hours, inclusive of an hour and a half's stoppage. Her averago speed was 13-G7-Gothmiles an hour. Ciiristchurcii, This day.
Tho Noav Zealand Shipping Company havo received a cable message stating that their second steamer, the Aorangi, left London for AVellington via Plymouth and the Cape on November 30th, with a full cargo and a large number of passengers. The British King reached the Capo on on November 2Sth and sailed the same day for AA r ellington.
