Scotland's Pride gained the first prize as the best three-year-old at the Highland Society's Slioav, and also the Princo of AVales' prizo of 40 guineas for tho best marc in the yard. Overdraft's dam, Highland Mary, has only succumbed in the showyard to her oavii mother, Violet (dam of Lord Castlereagh and Lady Burdette), avlio was shoAvn fourteen times and won thirteen first prizes. It will bo seen by reference to tho above that Overdraft is closely related to the best horses in the Avorld. He gained first prize as a yearling at Timaru, first prizo as a two-year-old and first prize as a three-year-old at the HaAvke's Bay Shows in 1882 and 1883. Overdraft is a bright bay, ivith chirk points. Ho stands IG-2 on short legs, with ' wonderfully powerful bono and substance. Ho will'ho limited to twenty approved marcs at G guineas each, Avhich fee will be returned should a mare not prove in foal.
