The Mayoral election resulted in the reelection of Mr Gilbert Carson by a majority of 12 over Mr George Hutchison. The election ivas keenly contested, and there ivas great excitement. AVellington, This day. The Mayoralty election resulted as folloivs :— George Fisher. 024; AVilliam Hutchison, 3G5. Westfort, This day. Mr John Hughes has been elected Mayor by a majority of SO A'otes over Mr Struthcrs. Christchurch, This day. The following is the result of the election for the Christchurjh Mayoralty :—Hulbert, G7l ; Avers, 40G. For the Lyttelton Mayoralty:—S. R. AVebb, 158; M'Douald, 15. Kaiapoi Mayoral election: —R. Moore Pollen, 112 votes; Gallagher, 71. At Rangiora A. A vary Avas elected Mayor unopposed. Tijiaru, This day. Mr John Jackson has been declared duly elected Mayor. This is his second year of office. Ashiiurton, This day. There avus very little excitement oyer the Mayoral election. Mr AY. AVilliamson, ivho had been in offico two previous years, was elected for the third time, beating Mr A. Harrison by 20 votes. The polling was —AVilliamson, 112; Harrison, 80. Greyjiouth, This day. In tho Mayoralty election Mr Dupro defeated Mr Thomas by 12 votes. There was no excitement, Hoicitika, This daj-. Mr W. L. Fowler has been elected Mayor for the third time. Dunedin, This day. Much interest ivas taken in tho city Mayoral election.
