Tho Hon. E. Mitcholson, Minister for Public Works, and Mr Maxwell, General Manager of Railways, left for the South in the Takapuna yestc.iday. The object of MiMitcholson's journey is to make a personal inspection of the whole Avorking railway system of the South Island. He will go as far as the Bluff, and is expected to be absent from Wellington about a fortnight.
