Messrs Banner and Liddle's skin sale yesterday drew a fair attendance of buyers, and the whole catalogue, comprising 1400 skins, Avas sold. Competition was very brisk, aud tho prices realised showed a marked advance upon late rates. Merino fetched 4 ; jd, Gld, G'd, 7d, and 7|d per lb for skins of good quality and condition. Crossbred brought 2d to 4 id for ordinary quality ; odd and mixed lots, lid to \\d per lb. Hides, 2d to 2fkl per lb. " Fat, 2d per lb.
Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co have received the following wool report from their London house, dated October oth:—Tho 3rd of October brought the series to an end, and although for some .sorts prices have rather hardened than otherwise during the past fortnight, still a general feeling of relief is experienced that the auctions have closed without a still further diminution in values having taken place. Directly after tho date of our last report there Avas a visible hardening in price, consequent on a fresh influx of buyers, but tho improvement AViis not of long duration, and the irregularities which have obtained throughout the series became quickly again apparent, and have continued to tho close. Good medium greasy avool remains without alteration, about one-half below last sales, Avhilo superior sound silky wool is, if anything, rather dearer, but tender flocks, owing to tho loav price of noils, are much neglected. Inferior short stapled wools closed about Id below last series ; superior Avashed tleeces sell Avell and are very scarce. Medium washed fleece is difficult to move off, and is about Id lower. Scoured combing, if firm and pretty free, sells readily, but inferior wool, especially Avhen not adapted for combing purposes, is still A'cry irregular, and remains about 2d doAvn. Crossbred, of medium and good quality is, if anything, dearer than at the opening, and tho coarse-haired sorts remain tho same. 401,804 bales have been catalogued, of which about 40,531 bales have been bought in. [by cable.] London, November 12. Consols have advanced to 101 £. Now Zealand securities remain as follows : —FiA'e per cent 10-40 loan, 10' ii ; five per cent 1880 loan, 103 i, ex-dividend; four and a half per cent fS79-1904 loan, 100-f-; four per cent inscribed stock, 100, exdividend. Adelaide wheat has advanced Od per quarter, and is iioav quoted at 40s; Ncav Zealand ditto remains at 38s Gd to 44s Gd ; Adelaide flour, ex-store, 325. Scotch pig iron has fallen Gd per ton, and is quoted to-day at 47s Gd, f.o.b. in Clyde ; galvanised iron, 26-gaugo, packed in case f.o.b. in London, £18 10s.
