A poll Avas taken yesterday on tAvo questions.—(l.) Whether the burgesses were in favor of a number of unsold town sections Avliich have been used as a racecourse being CroAvn granted to tho borough, Avith poAvcr to lease for tAventy-ono years as a Avholofor horse racing, cricket, building, or other purposes, or (2) whether the sections should be made over in perpetuity as a reserve for the use of the Taranaki Jockey Club, Taranaki Agricultural Society, and general recreation ground. The result of tho polling was—Crown granting to borough, 270 : against, 15.
