Ross and Co., of this city, report tho sale of a cargo of kauri timber ex Stanley (it the fallowing average prices: — Per 100 feet super, hewn logs, 1 Is rid ; sawn flitches, Ms (id; sawn boards, 1-inch, 20s 3d; ditto, 1 : [ to 8-inch, 20s. Tho marketis depressed. Tho Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of Now Zealand (limited) reports of the local grain market as follows:—Wheat, 4s 3d to_ -Is 4d, yvith more demand aud a slight improvement ; malting barley, Is to *ss, prices nominal; New* Zealand oats aro in fair demand fit -_s 9d to 3s for feeding, and 3s Id aud 3s 2d for milling sorts ; NewZealand oats, under bond, are slow of sale at 2s to 2s-id.
