The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross, Capt. Ross, did not arrive hove from "Wellington until noon to-day, Avhen she was mot and tendered in the bay by the launch Boojum foi the inward 'Frisco and coastal mails, the Cross being brought inside by the pilot and berthed at tho breastwork shortly afterward. Tho Southern Cross reports having left Wellington at 10. lo p.m. on Monday, and to having experienced strong north-easterly yvinds yvith a lumpy head sea until last evening, Avhen it moderated. Besides thirty-three immigrants and their luggage out of the lonic andWestland, the' Cross brings _ seme Go tons of general cargo, Avhich she is to discharge this afternoon, as sho steams hence for Gisborno and Auckland at 0 p.m. The p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, steamed for Wairoa and Whakaki shortly after 10 o'clock last night, taking thirteen passeng-rs and a pood cargo, consistingprincipally of bridge material. Tho steamer Kiwi, Captain Campbell, is to leave Wellington to-night, and will probably arrive here by Friday morning early, and will in that case sail again tho same evening. The Kiwi is bringing some boilers and other heavy machinery for Messrs Nelson Bros, and 'Williams, of Tomoana. The steamer Bella, Capt. Green, got back from Mohaka at about G. 30 last evening, bringing three passengers and a full cargo of wool. She -will be "leaving again for the same place next Friday night. The s.s. Sir Donald is to leave for Waimarama to-night for a load of avool. The steamer Maori, Capt.
