SERIOUS FIRE IN AUCKLAND.

Auckland, This day. A fire broke out in Mr A. 11. Nathan's Avarehousos, Queen-street, Avharf, 9 o'clock last evening. Tho damage by fire and water Avill amount to several thousand pounds. The upper story and the goods in it were totally destroyoii. The following are the insurances iv respect to Mr Nathan's own store:—Stock, Union, £1000; South British, £3000: Standard. £1000; North British and Mercantile, £2000. In the division over Mr John Lamb's shop, £3000, of Avhich £2000 is in the South British. The insurances are approximate, as the safe cannot be got at. In Mr John Lamb's shop the damage is extensive, but as MiLamb is absent the insurances arc not known. There Avas a large stock of flour and biscuits in the shop. The origin of the fire is unknown. One compartment of the warehouse is uninjured.
