WARRANT ISSUED FOR ARREST OF MAN CHARGED WITH PERJURY.
Wanganui, This day. Tlie case against Simon Ashford, a halfcaste, for perjury at the recent session of the Supreme Court in tho case of assault brought by Piercy against three natives, came on at the R.M. Court yesterday. The accused did not appear in ansAver to the summons, and the R.M. issued a warrant for his arrest. The case is to come on again j Avhen the accused is found. It is thought that, he is in the back country, and may not be got.
