ARRIVALS

November. 7—Waikato, ship, from London via Lyttelton.

The New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Waikato, 1021 tons registrar, Captain Sutherland, was coining up the bay under charge of the pilot when our report left tho Spit. She is from London, via Lyttelton, having , left tho latter place on Saturday morning. She has a considerable quantity of salt, cement, and empty tanks on board, after discharging which she is to be placed on the berth to load wool and other produce for London. The Waikato makes the fifth vessel iv the bay waiting for wool, &c, and tho second of tho New Zealand Shipping lino. Tho Union Steamship Company s steamer Southern Cross, Capt Ross, is to leave Gisborne to-night, and will be due hero the at an early hour to-morrowmorning. Shewill discharge her cargo inside, and 1 p.m. tomorrow is announced to steam from the wharf for Wellington. The barque Wave Queen was brought back from tho ballast ground to the anchorage again yesterday afternoon. There being still a heavy sea reported to be running at Wairoa, the Maori and Manaia have as yet been unable to get away for that place. Tho former vessel, however, confidently expects, to start at 12 o'clock tonight. The steamer Sir Donald, Captain Quinlan, is taking in a part cargo of stores today, and will be leaving to-night for Blackhead. Tho s.s. Woka, Captain John Campbell, is to steam for various southern coastal stations to-night to pick up a load of wool. [By Cable.] London, November 5. The P. and 0. steamship Assam, from Melbourne on September 11, arrived at Plymouth to-day. Tho Merchant Shipping and Underwriter's Association report tho arrival of the ships Alastor from Port Chalmers (left July 25), Lyttelton from .Port Chalmers (left August 20), Dun.yeinoro from Lyttelton (left July 27), and Rangitikei from Tiinaru (left July 28).
