At To Awamutu on Saturday Trooper James "Weal, while marking at the rifle range, was accidentally shot by Trooper Alexander, who was firing at the 400 yards range. The bullet struck Weal near the point of the right shoulder, crossing tho body, and is supposed to be lodged in tho left lung, as no point of exit is visible. Weal incautiously came out of the butts just as Alexander pulled tho trigger. There aro but slight hopes of his recovery. Curiously enough Mr Weal, the father, himself a member of tho corps, waa acci-

dentally shot at target practice some time ago.
