October. 10 —Maori, s.s., for Wairoa, with seven passengers.
The Union Steamship Company's s.s., Southern Cross, Capt. Ross, arrived in the roadstead from Wellington at G.I. J p.m. yesterday. She discharged her cargo, some 25 tons, 'inside at the breastwork this morning, and at 2 o'clock was to have steamed for Gisborne and Auckland. The p.s., Manaia, Capt, Baxter, got back from Wairoa at S o'clock last night, bringin"- sixteen Maoris and a quantity of maize consigned to Messrs Kinross and Co. The Manaia will bo leaving again for tho .same destination to-morrow night.
Tho Union Company's steamer Omapore is telegraphed ns having left Wellington for Northern porta at 4.30 p.m. yesterday, and should arrive hero this afternoon. As she has but 15 tons of cargo for here it has been decided to tender her in the hay for mails, passengers, and cargo, so as to enable her to proceed on her passage for Auckland direct to-night. The "last launch will be leaving tho wharf at 8 o'clock to-night. Tho .steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, left for Wairoa at 11 o'clock Inst night, taking a full cargo and .seven passengers, whoso names, however, we were unable to ascertain. Tho s.s. Kiwi is reported as having left Wellington at 0.45 last night, and will ho duo here by to-morrow morning. Should she arrive she will discharge her cargo infiidc, and at 5 p.m. tho same day will steam hence for Wcllinirton.
The steamer Sir Donald is discharging cargo ex tho barque Wave Queen at the breastwork to-day.

Tho Merchant Shipping and 'Underwriter's Association report the arrival from Napier of the ships Elcctra (left June 13), from the Bluff Edwin Fox (left June 23), from Auckland Famenoth (left June 13) and Tongon (left June' 27), and from Lyttelton Waipa (left June 23). Melbournk, Tuesday. Sailed, this afternoon, Union steamship Waihora for the Bluff.
