ACTION FOR RECOVERY OF AMOUNT OF BOND OF FIDELITY.

Wellington, This day

At the Supreme Court yesterday the case of Spcrroy v. Dransfiolfl and others was heard. This was an action brought by tho Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, in pursuance of the Building Societies Act of 18G6, to recover from Joe Drunsfiold, John Richard Gill, and John Edward Hayes, of Wellington, the sum of £500 upon a bond of fidelity given by the defendants in regard to Charles White, late secretary of the Wellington Building Society. Counsel, in opening the case, said that the statement of tho claim alleged that tho said Charles White was at one time secretary of the Wellington Building Society ; that the society was properly constituted; that a bond of fidelity was entered into by the defciuLm's on behalf of the said Charles White ; that tho bond was for £500 ; that the said Charles White received sums amounting to £18GG which he did not account for, and that he unlawfully appropriated the same to his own use-. The case was adjourned until to-day for further argument.
