A rumor is current here that Charles Parnell has been shot. The report, the origin of Avhich has not been traced, _ has caused some excitement, but has not gained much credence. The meetings at Dungannon yesterday were largely attended by Mr Parnell's followers, and, notwithstanding the presence of a largo number of Orangemen, nothing approaching tho nature of a riot occurred, tho presence of strong bodies of constabulary and military having been sufficient to preserve order. It has been ascertained that tho report that Mr Parnell has been shot at is altogether unfounded. The Rev. Mr Shaw was accorded a public reception to-day at Exeter Hall on his return from Madagascar. There Avas a very large attendance of sympathisers and the general public. Mr Shaw gave a lengthy narrative of the treatment ho received at the hands of the French naval authorities, showing that ho had been subjected to considerable ill-usage on shore and on board the Avarships Avhich took him to Reunion. Tho London Press are unanimous in urging Mr ShaAV to demand from the French Government reparation for the treatment received. News is to hand of a fatal agrarian outrage in Ireland, tho victim being a landlord in Mayo, named Cratty. No clue to the perpetrator of the murder has been obtained. O'Donnell was again brought up at Bowstreet Police Court to-day.
