Arrow al«o spoke in favor of the Act, and thought its adoption would benefit the township, but was afraid the town would reap no benefit unless the j property owners ftf the place could be induced to take a more active part in the government of tho town. A resolution affirming the desirability of bringing tho Act into operation, and appointing a committee to canvass for signatures to a petition, was carried with but one dissentient. The meeting was very orderly, and but one person, Mr M. Flynn, was rather noisy. He appeared to labor under the conviction that all the sj>eakers were " new chums," and tried to "stir things up in-order to bring damage to a place that had been happy for twenty years without change." Ho was corrected once or twice by the chairman, and at last hacl to be told that he would be put out by the police if he did not keep order. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the proceedings.
