New Plymouth, This day. There was considerable excitement yesterday over the borough election, the Jockey Club versus the Blue Ribbon Army being the most active amongst the voters. The former put their men in, Mr Berry beating Captain Davidson by 23, and Mr Callaghan beating Mr Ward by 18 votes. ■Wellington, This day. The municipal elections for a councillor for each ward took place yesterdaj*. Mr W. Fit/Gerald had a walk over for Thorn - don, Mr J. M. Richardson was elected for Lambton Ward, Mr J. Petherick, junr., for To Aro Ward, and Mr Alexander Wilson for Cook Ward. llokitika, This day. The Borough Council election on Wednesday resulted as follows:—John Tait, 239 ; Turner, 21G ; Benjamin, 201; M'Goldrick, 185. The three first were declared eloctcd.
