SUIT FOR JUDICIAL SEPARATION OF MARRIAGE.

Dunedin, This day. At tho October sittings of the Supreme Court Margaret Lavorty seeks judicial separation from Charles Lavcrty. It is alleged that, on the night of their marriage in August, 1881, the husband threatened to desert her, and grossly abused her. Ho offered her £100 if she would desert him. Thrco days afterwards he threatened to shoot her, and presented a loaded gun at her, which his brother discharged, fearing that blood would be spilt. Owing to further threats she fled from his house, and has since boon living apart.
