A service of song, " Alone in London," ■with descriptive readings, will bo rendered in the United Methodist Free Church at 8 o'clock to-night in aid of the Sunday school funds. A summoned meeting of Lodge Shamrock, Loyal United Friends, is convened for 8 o'clock to-night. The quarterly meeting: of St. John's branch No. 93, i1.A.C.8.5., takes place at the usual place at-7.30 to-night. The Artillery Volunteers parade for gun drill, without uniform, at the gun shed at 7.15 to-night. A general meeting , of the Uawkc's Bay Cricket Association will be held at Mayo's Empire Hotel at noon to-morrow. The Supremo Court sits in bankruptcy at the Court House at 2 p.m. to-morrow, when George Bradley, Samuel Merrick, and Nathaniel Pileher, bankrupts, will make applications for discharge. A brown filly impounded at Hastings, unless redeemed, will bo sold at noon, tomorrow. Mr Monteith sells a consignment of clothing by auction at the Horse Bazaar auction rooms on Saturday. A meeting takes place at Mr Kelly's hotel on Saturday evening for the purpose of forming a Boxiug Club in Hastings. Mr Monteith holds his weekly stock and prof! uco sale at the Horse Bazaar as usual on Saturday afternoon. Messrs lloadley, Lyon and Co. sell by auction at their .wool stores on Tuesday next the lease of the Farndou Park for a period of five years. The Hastings Dramatic Club give their first performance in the Town Hall, Hastings, on Thursday evening, 20th instant, in aid of the "properties" fund. Mr G-. T. Scale has withdrawn from the election to fill the vacancy in the Puketapu Itoad Board. Education reserves in Napier and in the
Takapau survey district will be offered for lease for a number of years by auction at tho Council Chamber, Napier, on Wednesday, October 17. Mr Prebblo receives fresh oysters -weekly, and buys pickle bottles in any quantity. Messrs Blythe and Co. opened yesterday very choice pompadours and. plain dress sateens. A bracelet has been lost, and anyone returning same to Mr Edward Cameron, office of this paper, will be rewarded. Meals and beds can be had for 1/- each at Sowry's Temperance Hotel, Woodville. Messrs W. G. Faulknor and Co., of the Hastings Coach Factory and Wagon Works, Market street, Hastings, make all descriptions of vehicles, i!vc. The Bon Marohe is now showing the newest and most fashionable dress goods. A number of new advertisements will be found in our "Wanted " column.
