The ordinary meeting for September of the Hawke's Bay Philosophical Institute takes place in the society's room at the Athemeum at 7.30 to-night.

A summoned meeting of the Loyal Orange Lodge, No. 5, is convened for S o'clock this evening in the Protestant Hall. The members of Court Captain Cook, A.0.F., are requested to meet at the hall, Dickens-street, at 2 p.m. to-morrow, to attend the funeral of the wife of tho late Bro. Frances.

Mr Ryan sells subdivision 48 of suburban section 21, Havelock road, Napier, at his mart at noon to-morrow.

Tho creditors of H. J. Glazobrook meet at tho Court House, Napier, at 2 p.m. tomorrow, when the debtor makes application for certificate of compliance with the provisions of the Bankruptcy Acts.

A service of song, "Alone in London," with descriptive readings, will bo rendered in the Methodist Free Church on Wednesday evening, in aid of the Sunday school funds.

Mr Dugleby invites tenders for painting the Napier Hospital. An alteration of tho nights upon which nightsoil will be removed from the various localities in the borough is announced.

Subscriptions towards the building and furnishing of the new wing and children's ward of the Hawke's Bay Hospital are solicited.
