ARRIVALS.

September. 6— Elibank Castle, topsail schooner, from

Gisborne. G—Maori, s.s. from Wairoa. Passengers —Mr and Mrs Gray, Mrs Saeifer,

Messrs Stafford and Haddoes. 7 Kiwi s.s. from- "Wellington via Castle Point. Passengers—Messrs C. Doile, T. Yorke, and one steerage.

The topsail schooner Elibank Castle, arrived from Gisborno yesterday afternoon, aud was brought inside and moored at the breastwork by the pilot. She comes here in ballast, and is to take in a cargo of coal and fencing posts for Mr A. E. Johnson, of Gisborne. _ „ Tho steamer Kiwi, Capt. James Campbell, from Wellington and tho coast, arrived hero at 1 a.m. this day, and was berthed inside at the breastwork at about 7 o'clock. She left Wellington at 8 o'clock on Tuesday; worked at Castle Point yesterday, and arrived here as above. Experienced strong northerly weather to Cfi.stlo Point, and from there to arrival heavy southerly wind. Her cargo for this port consists of some 135 tons, including transhipment goods out of the Timaru and Oxford. The Kiwi is announced to steam for Wellington at 5 p.m. to-morrow. The Union Company's steamer To Anau, Captain McGee, left Auckland for Southern East Coast ports and Melbourne at 12.30 p.m. yesterday. She brings 10 tons of cargo for this port, and is due here by daylight to-morrow. Sho will be tendered in the usual way by the lighters and launch, and at 2 p.m. will resume her passage. Tho s.s. Maori, Captain Anderson, returned from Wairoa at 9 o'clock last night, bringing several passengers. As there is a heavy sea reported to be running on tho Wairoa bar the steamer Manaia's departure has had to bo postponed. The Union Company's steamer Tarawera, Capt. Sinclair, does not now leave Wellington before 3 o'clock to-morrow afternoon, so that it will thus be Sunday morning before sho can get here. Her time of departure for tho Nortli has been extended until 4 -p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

[by cable.] London, September 5. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association report the arrival of tho ship Archer from Lyttelton (left April 27). Sydney, Thursday. Sailed, this afternoon, P.M.S. Zealandia for San Francisco via Auckland, with £150,000 in specie.
