PORT OF NAPIER

ARRIVALS. August. 24— KiAvi, s.s., from Wellington direct. Passengers—Mr and Mrs Cobhain and family (2), and Mr Turner.

The steamer Kiwi, Capt. James Camphell, from Wellington direct, arrived m the bay at 3 o'clock" this morning, and Avas berthed inside at tho breastwork at 7 o'clock. Reports having experiencedstrong southerly winds throughout tho trip. She partly discharged her cargo to-day, which consisted of some 150 tons, including a quantity of transhipment goods out of the ships Timaru and Oxford, and also a large copper boiler for Mr G. H. Swan, and a large case containing a threshingmachine for Messrs Chambers Bros., of To Mata. The Kiwi expects to got aAvay again for Wellington at noon to-morroAV. "The Union Company's steamer Waihora, Captain Edio, left Auckland at 12.45 p.m. for Southern ports and Melbourne, and is due in our roadstead the first thing to-mor-row morning. She Avill bo tendered as usual by the launch for mails and passengers at 0.30 a.m., and by the lighter for her inAvard cargo, some 31 tons. The steamer Avill resume her passage for the South at 2.30 p.m. tho same day. The s.s. Maori, Captain Anderson, for Wairoa, is still delayed in port by tho southerly Aveatheiv The steamer Tainroa, Captain Parsons, which left here for the South at 3 o'clock yesterday morning, is telegraphed as having arrived 'in Wellington at 8.30 a.m. this day. The Union Company's steamer Rmgaroonia has, avc learn, been detained in Lyttelton, and will not now be able to arrive hero before Sunday morning. Her advertised time of departure for Gisborne, Auckland, and the Bay of Islands has in consequence been extended until 4 o'clock that afternoon.
