August. 18—Manapouri, s.s., for Melbourne via AVellington and Southern ports. Passengers —Mesdames George and two children and Saunders, Mr and Mrs J. AY. Carlile, Mr and Mrs Miller, Messrs M'Kay, Jopp, and Hazeldean. 18—Omapere, s.s., for Poverty Bay, lauramm, and Auckland. Passengers— Mra Rogers, Mr aud Mrs Browne, Messrs Blackc, Goodyoar, and Spencer. 10—Maori, s.s., for AVairoa. 19—Te Anau, s.s., for Poverty Bay, Auckland, and Sydney. Passengers—Mesdnmes Goose, Carr, and M'Lean, Miss Eraser, Messrs Field, Thomson, M'Phail, AY. Hislop, Phillips, Somervillc, aud AVatson.
The outward passengers were taken off to the Manapouri at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, the steamer getting away for Southern ports and Melbourne at about 3 p.m. The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, sailed on Sunday moriiiug' for Wairoa, Avith a good cargo. The Union Company's steamer Omapere, Capt. AVebsier, left for Gisborne, Tauranga, and Auckland at G o'clock on Saturday night. She is telegraphed as having arriA?ed at Gisborne at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. The Union Company's steamer Te Anau, Capt. McCec, arri ved'at the anchorage from the South at 7 o'clock last night, and was tendered later on by the Boojum for inward mails and passengers, and by the Sir Donald and Admiral for her cargo, some 90 tons. The To Anau reports having left Port Chalmers at G p.m. on the I Gth, and arrived at Lyttelton at 11 next morning, sailed same day at 10 p.m. ; arrived at AVcllington at 3 p.m. ou tho ISth, and left at 1.15 a.m. on the 19th, arriving as above. Experienced strong Avcstcrly Avinds along the greater part of the coast. The outward mails and passengers Avere transhipped at 9 p.m., the steamer quitting tho bay for the North _at midnight. She is announced as having arrived at Gisborne at 8.30 a.m. this day. _ The steamer IGavi, Captain is expected to leave AVellington for Napier and the coast this evening, and should arrivo hero by AVednesday morning. Tho Union Company's steamer Tairoa, Captain Parsons, Avith the Napier portion of the 'Frisco mail on board, docs not leave Auckland for tho South until this afternoon.
[by telegeaph.J Auckland, This day. The mail steamer City of Sydney arrived ut tho wharf shortly after 8 o'clock tonight, She left San Francisco on July 28. Her passage aviis uneventful. Passengers for Auckland—Cabin : Mr and Mrs J. M. Mitchell, Messrs Glcndinning, Mitchell, Porter, Harzog, Layard, and Patrick. Steerage: Mr and Mrs George, Mr and Mrs Ciirlie, Mr and Mrs Hart and three children, Mrs Johnson, Mrs Balnicr, and Mrs Sims. She brings 150 tons of freight and 407 bags of mails. For Sydney, 28 cabin and 50 steerage passengers, and 810 ions of freight.
