At the District Court yesterday Frederick King sued the Scottish Imperial Insurance Company for £100, being- tlic amount of insurance on goods destroyed by fire 071 April 23 last. After the firo King and his wife were tried for arson, but got otf. Judge Harvey, in giving judgment in the civil case yesterday, said the evidence "was very conflicting, and he was not satisfied with Mr and Mrs King. There was not a single item in the proof of loss but what had been grossly exaggerated, such exaggeration evidently being made with a fraudulent intent. Judgment was given for defendants on the ground that the plaintiff's claim was not based on bona fides.
