Wellington, This day._ A deputation from the AVellington' Fire UndcrAvriters' Association waited upon the Colonial Secretary yesterday! The : chairman handed Mr Dick a resolution from the association to the effect that the Fire and Marino Insurance Companies Bill was unnecessary and uncalled for, and should be opposed. The Colonial Secretary informed the deputation that it Avas scarcely Avorth while taking up their time by discussing the merits of the bill, as there Avas a stron"probability of its not being pressed this session. If, hoAvever, it did pass its second reading he would let them knoAV and give them an opportunity of expressing their vieAvs beforo its going into committee.
