REPORT OF ENQUIRY INTO COMPLAINTS OF PASSENGERS BY CATALONIA.
AVellington, This day. Tho commissioners appointed to enquire into the complaints of the steerage passengers of the Catalonia have handed in their report to the Government. They are of opinion
that the provisions were of good quality and plentiful, but that the cooking was decidedly faulty, and further that the general supervision was not so good as it might have been. They mention that they have advised any private passenger who has complaints to communicate with the Collector of Customs. The Commissioners went off to Sommes Island this morning to take evidence as to the outbreak of typhoid fever on board the ship Oxford.
