HOBART.
This day. The Colonial Treasurer made his Budget statement last night. He estimates the revenue for the current financial year at £503,000, and the expenditure at £519,000. The surplus will be applied to the remission of 3/- per cwt. on sugar, 3d per lb on tea, and the abolition of duty on machinery. A new loan of £1,000,000 is to be raised for public works.
