To-moiTow (Saturday) night the cheap sale of drapery and clothing at Mr C. Smith's shop, next Holt's timber yard, will positively close. Immense reductions have been made in all the departments. Mr Lyndon will sell oranges and tea by auction at his mart to-morrow at 11 a.m.

Mr Monteith sells horses, harness, Canterbury oats, and fowls at the Horse Bazaar at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow. Messrs AVood and Co. sell furniture and miscellaneous goods by auction at their rooms opposite the Bank of New Zealand, Hastings, at 2 p.m. to-morroAv. The time for receiving tenders forthe following works expires to-morrow : —For constructing bridge over Deep Gully botween Havelock and Te Mata, with Mr John Chambers, junr., noon ; for metalling the Pakowhai road from Pakowhai railway crossing to main road at Farndon, with Clive Road Board, noon ; and for erecting a building at Hastings, with Mr H. 0. Johnson.

Legal proceedings will be taken for the recovery of rates due to the Puketapu Road Board unpaid after to-morrow.
