Dunedin, This day,
Professor Beack, reporting on a number of samples of alcoholic liquors seized by tho police iv Dunedin and the country districts, says brandies ranged from proof to 32 under, whiskey from 10 to 27, rums from proof to oO under, and gins about 22 under. He complains of the undue prevelauco of table salt in beers, and says nearly all the brandies have excessive quantities of tannin. The police intend prosecuting several hotelkeepers.
