THE VICTORIAN AGENT-GENERAL URGES PROTECTORATE OVER NEW GUINEA AND NEW HEBRIDES.

Mr Sei'A'ice, the Premier, has reeeievd a telegram from the Agent-General in London stating that public opinion in England is favorable to the establishment of a Protectorate over New Guinea and the Ncav Hebrides. Mr Murray Smith suggests that the colonies should make further collective proposals to the Imperial Government, offering to pay a share of the expenses of establishing a Protectorate.
