RICH GOLD REEF STRUCK NEAR WELLINGTON.

■ During the last week considerable excitement has prevailed about the Terawhiti gold field, owing to the reported striking of a large gold-bearing reef in the Golden Crown claim.' During last week shares in this company rose from 4s to 10s, and at the meeting of shareholders last night Mr Mace announced that a rich reef four feet thick had been struck, bearing stone superior to reefs which he had known to crush C to Bozs. to tho ton. Mr K. Mace, the mine manager, confirmed this. Shares this morning have advanced to 17s Od, and shares in the other claims are also rapidly rising.
