June 22. The cargo of frozen mutton by tho steamship Orient, has arrived iv excellent condition. The first portion of the meat was placed in the market to-day, and realized 7d per pound. The election for the vacancy in the representation of Peterborough in the House of Commons, caused by the resignation of Captain Whallcy, took place to-day, and resulted in the return of Mr Bixton, Liberal. The wool sales closed to-day. Fine to superfine, qualities generally are steady, but the demand is not active. Inferior ancl faulty wools of all kinds are weak. June 21. James Carev, the informer in thcPhamix Park murder trials, has quitted Dublin, it is believed for Canada.
