AN ANGLICAN CLERGYMAN ON THE SALVATION ARMY.
Christchurch, This day. The Rev. H. Watson of the Church of England, preached a sermon on the Salvation Army yesterday. After reviewing the orgin and method of conducting the Army, he said, on the Avholc, he thought that this AA'as a movement for good, and lie, and others with him, felt thoy ought to Avish God speed to it. It Avas a movement reaching a mass of sin and misery not touched by any organisation of the Christian Church, therefore they ought not to make light of
it, but endeavor by help and adA*ice to prevent a really useful movement lapsing iv any degree into irreverence, which Avould de great harm to a work of great poAver in the cause of religion.
