On the arrival of the Czar at St. Petersburgh he Avas received Avith great enthusiasm, and he then proceeded to the Imperial residence at Pcterhoff. Tho Agents-General of the various Australasian colonies consider that before approaching the Imperial Government in reference to the propriety of the annexation of tho NeAV Hebrides and other Pacific islands, tho colonies should first decide what amount they are prepared to contribute toAvards the cost of management of the new possessions. Mr Murray Smith, AgentGeneral for Victoria, and Sir F. Dillon Bell, Agent-General for NeAV Zealand, have cabled to this effect to their respective Governments. Juno 12. The Pall Mall Gazette says that, unless the Government proves firm in regard to the annexation of the NeAV Hebrides and NeAV Guinea, Australia, and notDowning-street, Avill haA'c to decide the future of Oceanica. Juno 13. No traces of poison have been found in the remains of July, the Dublin publican, AA'ho AA'as recently exhumed by the police authorities. The Reichstag has passed a vote for tho German budget, and the session has been brought to a close. The Turks assert that the disturbance Avith the Albanians has been quelled. Notwithstanding James Carey, the informer in the Phoenix Park murders, being expelled from tho Dublin Council, the Judges iv Ireland have decided that he is still entitled to hold the position of Councillor. It is announced that Prince Albert Victor Avill enter Cambridge University in October next. A procession consisting of 50,000 persons escorted the Right Hon. John Bright at Birmingham. Zukcrtort, tho well - known German player, avou the first prize in the recent chess tournament. Mr Rue (Liberal) has been elected for Derby in the place of Mr Michael Thomas Bass, Avho resigned a short time back. Herr A r on Benningseu, leader of the Central party in the German Reichstag, has resigned his seat.
